Scavenger Hunt for Vintage!

At ESN this week, the Scavenger Hunt is for vintage items from the photos of ESN sellers.  We all love vintage items here on ESN and there are plenty to choose from.  While there may be a few youngins' in our group, most of us remember using these vintage items or having them around when we were only knee high to a grasshopper.

First I found this wonderful Western Cowgirl Vinyl Wall Art for your bathroom.  While it is not vintage, it does depict a vintage scene with the claw foot bathtub.  We had claw foot bathtubs when I was a child.  Use to hate cleaning the floor underneath them.  But, I sure like the look of them now.  Plus it reminds me that my brother and I use to play cowboys and Indians all the time.  We had so much fun when I was little!  You can find this and other great vinyl wall art at T-Storms Graphics.

Next, I found this beautiful vintage Grant Thomas Hawaiian shirt from Eccentric Thrifter.  She has so many beautiful vintage Hawaiian shirts to choose from, but I really like the vintage yellow gold color of this one.  Just add a panama hat (cigar is optional) and he will definitely be the coolest cat around.

And lastly, from the 1930s (ah, this is before my time), a gasoline iron.  I just couldn't help myself.  I know we are currently featuring this over on ESN, but I didn't know these existed.  I am just fascinated with this Akron Lamp and Mfg gasoline iron.  I can't imagine what it would have been like to iron with this (not that I iron too much anyway).  This great item can be seen at Hazel's HodgePodge.

Wow, the things you find on ESN!  Hope you enjoyed looking at my great finds.  Please check out ESN yourself and find some wonderful memories!  You can also visit my store CAROLINABLUELADY Vintage Collectibles where you will find a lot of vintage!

Flowers, Granddaughters and Sunshine

This week has been beautiful - the temperatures are climbing and the sun is out.  That beautiful Carolina blue sky is glorious and I think it is suppose to last all through the weekend.  Hallelujah!  Walking out my front door in the morning, I am seeing the green sprouting up through the ground.  Hyacinths, daffodils and crocuses will soon be blooming and not a moment too soon.  I am so ready for warm weather.  Our ESN scavenger hunt theme this week is Sun.  I decided to look for floral items from our ESN sellers since the sun and warmth seem to be helping my flowers grow.

As you all know, I love dinnerware and here is a beautiful blue floral china creamer with gold trim - Imperial China W Dalton Seville Creamer from ComycGyrl.  This is so pretty and would look lovely on a small table next to a window with the sun shining in, enjoying tea time with a close friend or spending a quiet moment reflecting on a beautiful day.

Or what a better time to have a tea party with that special granddaughter of yours.  Here is a perfect dress that she could wear.  A beautiful pink floral Disney Long Princess Dress from Bargain Express.  She would most definitely feel like a princess all dressed up drinking tea with Grandma!   Little girls are such a ray of sunshine!

After your special tea party, why not go out and do some window shopping with your princess.  We have a lot of strip shopping centers here in the south.  Most have ice cream shops and playground area and are very family oriented.  Here is a wonderful floral tote I found at Eccentric Thrifter.  It is an Elizabeth Arden Tote Bag with a cosmetic case.  Don't you just love the copper trim?  This would be large enough to hold all the extras that you might need to spend the afternoon outside in the warm sun.

Would love to have you visit ESN and check out other eCrater sellers.  We are all enjoying the anticipation of spring and warm weather.  Hope you have a bright sunny day!

Congratulations Green Bay Packers!

I was so hoping that the Packers would win.  At the start of the game it looked like the team from the frozen tundra would have no problem.  The Steelers looked dazed and confused.  But then towards the end, the Steelers seemed to get it together - as the clock ticked down with only seconds left, the Steelers had the ball and only six points behind.  It would only take one throw and if they got it in, there would have been no time left for the Packers to come back.  Hope you were watching the game!

Our theme for the ESN Scavenger Hunt this week is Football.  Decided to look for a cool outfit to wear to the Super Bowl party.  I couldn't help but fall in love with this wonderful UNIFORM black leather jacket from Gig's Consignment Closet.  It's not really all that cold down here, so this is just perfect.

To complete the outdoor ensemble, I found a wonderful Variegated Crochet Toboggan Hat with gray, blue and burgundy colors from Eccentric Thrifter.  This would look so cool with the black leather jacket.

Jeans, white shirt and short black boots would almost complete this super bowl party outfit.  But needs a little pazazz.  Found this beautiful pendant necklace!  A Fire Polished Crystal and Swarovski Crystal with metal pendant from Jewelry Designs by JSJ.  The colors in this necklace match the toboggan hat perfectly and note the wonderful butterflies on the metal pendant.

Love it when an outfit comes together!  Check out these great eCrater stores and others for great fashions.  Here's a link direct to the Store Directory by category.

And, congratulations to the Green Bay Packers for a great game!  Can't wait for next season!
